BIOGRAPHY | CHOREGRAPHY Résumé

Biography
Director and choreographer DOUG GRAHAM draws from years as a successful Broadway and television performer bringing his own high-calibre professionalism and versatile productions to stage and screen.

With an extensive knowledge of theater dance, Doug's choreographic range is impressive: ballet, jazz, lyric jazz and tap,
he throws it all into the mix!

Doug has choreographed a sizable volume of convention shows for such prestigious companies as Tupperware, Rotary International, Texaco and Midas. With repeat production contracts for Williams-Gerard and Gettings Productions, his résumé includes work for the Walt Disney Company and choreography for EPCOT's hugely successful New Year's Eve Celebration, as well as Cypress Gardens’ Ski Spectacular.

Doug’s always fresh, original production numbers effectively reflect whatever mood or thematic styling is called for. Drawing from innate sense of theatricality, timing and musicality, his versatility and talent habitually bring whatever he mounts onstage up several notches.

Ongoing commissions by universities creating new works for their dance companies, attest to Doug's familiarity with the concert stage and teaching acumen.

His strong professional theatrical background is rich resource he draws upon. Performing works of choreographers Bob Fosse, Ron Field, Gillian Lynn and Michael Bennett, he has been seen on Broadway and in National Tours of CHICAGO (with Chita Rivera), Bob Fosse’s DANCIN', CATS (as the Rum Tum Tugger), PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, Radio City with the Rockettes, and starred in Italian TV’s “To Paradise.”

As a result of this experience on stage, his own mountings of theatrical productions have always proven to be top-notch and well-received.

Doug has successfully choreographed for groups on stage as small as four and as large as 200, dealing with all ages and levels of ability, and has produced for audience locations as varied as convention ballrooms, arenas, to audiences of 4000.

As a teacher, he conducts Master Classes and dance conventions around the country in the Fosse stylings, theatre dance and jazz, recreating original Broadway repertoire sharing with students the steps of the masters.

On the convention-industrial scene, he works closely with each client, staging the production at times, added to production numbers and skits. Clients are always impressed with his professionalism and amiability.

Doug has proven to be capable and assured dealing quickly and effectively with on-the-spot, last-minute changes.

Rarely has a choreographer/director offered such versatility combined with good-natured enthusiasm and professionalism!
