dance class text

Doug Graham's DANCE CLASSES
combine a vast knowledge of original Broadway repertoire with a unique jazz/theatre dance style bringing students of any level to their own realization of what it takes to be a pro.

"There’s no greater joy than to watch my students begin to realize their own unique talents, and to nurture them to dream big, and watch it happen."

Personally hired by Bob Fosse for his first show in NYC, the National Tour of DANCIN’, the Fosse style is now part and parcel of Doug's Master Classes and Convention Shows across the country. "I don’t stop with Fosse, I also teach original repertoire from CATS, CHICAGO, A CHORUS LINE and beyond, even the classic styling of the movies from the ‘20s through the ‘50s."

Combine all that with Doug's own unique style, accrued from working with the best and brightest in the business ... students leave with a sense of not only personal accomplishment, but a greater confidence to tackle future auditions, and empowering them to take this sense of power into their lives and to be all they can be.

Doug Graham's MASTER CLASSES range from 90 minutes to two hours, and involve a warm-up specifically designed to center and strengthen from the core. Also included: isolations, unique and powerful ways to stretch, and across-the-floor combinations.

In the second segment students experience Broadway level dance, learn actual original steps done through the years by Broadway dance professional. This segment will give each student a taste of what it actually takes to be on a Broadway stage.

Doug's classes are upbeat, disciplined but positive, encouraging and energizing to the body, mind and spirit.

"I always give 100% to every class and that’s what I get in return from my students!"

voice teaching

With performance backgrounds on Broadway and in National Tours of Cats, Phantom of the Opera and Chicago, Doug is versed in the styling and techniques of musical theatre, classical, cabaret and pop.

His technique - a true vocal workout - has been passed down by master vocal instruction geniuses Eddie Sayegh and Erik Thorendahl, and the Garcia-Marchesi method which deal specifically with the muscles involved with proper singing technique.

Doug works with any voice - it all comes from the same place. Whether your focus be opera, pop, rock, country, Broadway, etc., if you can stay on pitch, I can help you become a better singer.

Doug also plays the piano and can coach for upcoming auditions (including audition technique) or performances you are working toward.

Doug works out of his home/studio in Palm Springs or can travel to you if you have a piano (for a slight extra travel charge).
